those graphics are better than GW, and this looks like a real MMO with some very cool pvp...

I've been looking for a new game, I may have to check this out. Too bad there isn't a free trial though.

Actually, Guild Wars already wasn't the only one playable without fees. Anarchy Online was playable for free far before Archlord went to a pay-for-premium-items system.

Yea, true. But I would imagine they aren't too expensive, I'll have to check it out.

The game does look very interesting. The point is to become the "Archlord", which is basically like being the king (of the game).

Hand of Ruin- I'm pretty sure that if you check out the Archlord forums, there's a thread about asking for trial keys.

oh wow i almost picked this up at the store.. i saw it next to the FEAR expansion (still can't find the non expansion fear.. damn them!) and picked it up looked at the back but didn't feel like getting addicted to another game with GW4 coming and my recent addiction to SWG XD

There's an 'almost' endless list of free MMO out there.

Maplestory and Runescape are few of the more popular ones.

Maplestory and Runescape qualify as MMO's. Last I checked they were Massive Multiplayer and they are online, and they are role playing games! Wait a second... MMORPG! YES! BRILLIANT!

They do qualify as MMORPGs.

However they are not retail MMORPGs! I'm talking about MMORPGs that you actually need to buy.

almost any games's graphics are better than GW's imo... reading those reviews though, probably not gonna bother with that game.

I played Archlord and to tell you the truth, I think it wasn't ready to be released yet. =/

The graphics can get rather glitchy at times when you view them at a certain angle. You can't turn off PK mode and the gender for each class is preselected. For example human knights are male, human mages are female, human archers are male and etc. There could be more problems about the game, it still needs a lot of fixing and I think that is why they made Archlord free to play because a lot of people weren't playing it.

I played Archlord since beta phase 1 as Draken if anyone played it. To tell ya the truth there's 3 races. 3 classes on human, orc, and 2 on moon elf.

The pvp in the game at beta was completely messed up also the graphics may appear cool and such its a pretty decent game but they delivered over 2500 quests and out of 100 quests that i did only 5 proved useful in XP compared to just heading out to the cave killing skeletons or later on werewolves..

It's just another grind grind grind game 2500 USELESS quests is what they delivered.

Archlord is trash, don't waste your time.

Shadowbane recently became completely free, however. If you don't mind the dated graphics it's a pretty good game, with some very good pvp.

Is Shadowbane a free download, or do you buy it in stores?

I'm playing Rappelz and its a free download w/a buy shop.
